We enjoy the advantages that centre city schooling provides
Getting to school
Otago Girls' High School is centrally located with many safe walking and biking routes through town as well as bus drop-offs in several locations including Princes Street, Geroge Street, Centre City New World, Hanover Street, Upper Stuart Street, Moray Place and Otago University.
We have four school vans that provide transport to and from events, including transport to most after-school sports games.
We enjoy the advantages that centre city schooling provides including access to University of Otago, Te Pūkenga - Otago Polytechnic, museums, galleries, parks and memorials.
The school is open and warm for all students from 7:00 am - 5:30 p.m. The library is a popular space to be before and after school.
Important information for bus users
To get the latest information on fares and timetable go to the Otago Regional Council website.
Fares are cheaper with a Bee card, when you load your child concession. You can pay on the bus but in CASH only.
It's a good idea to look at the bus timetable in advance and plan your route. For up to the minute alerts on bus disruptions on specific routes on your mobile, download the Transit app or go to the ORC public transport page "Notifcations and Alerts".
All bus pick-ups and drop-offs have easy options to avoid the central bus hub.
Students driving to school
We require written parental consent for senior licenced students to use a motorised vehicle for transport to and from school.
